Role
The Reservations Officer is responsible for managing all guest reservations and booking inquiries accurately, efficiently, and professionally. The role ensures guests receive prompt and accurate information about the hotel, maintains reservation records, coordinates with operational departments, and supports revenue growth through upselling. As one of the first points of contact, the Reservations Officer helps create a positive first impression and delivers excellent customer service throughout the reservation process.
Responsibilities
- Handle room reservations and inquiries via phone, email, and online channels promptly.
- Provide accurate information on room types, rates, packages, promotions, and hotel facilities.
- Maintain accurate reservation records and ensure correct room allocation based on guest requests.
- Review and confirm reservations to ensure complete and accurate booking details.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Sales, Housekeeping, and other departments for smooth guest arrivals.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Upsell rooms, packages, and hotel services to maximize revenue.
- Maintain professional communication and represent the hotel positively.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in Reservations, Front Office, or a similar role in the hospitality industry (4–5-star hotel preferred).
- Good spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Proficiency in Opera PMS or similar hotel reservation systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent accuracy in reservation handling.
- Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a team.
