About the Role
The Senior Program Manager leads delivery for Bonterra’s Community Violence Intervention (CVI) and public safety program, driving product execution, delivery discipline, stakeholder alignment, and customer outcomes. This role directs a matrixed team – including Advanced Support Consultants (ASCs), Implementation Consultants, and Project Managers – and coordinates cross functional partners to ensure clear ownership, timely execution, and risk management across all workstreams.
This role is organized around three core delivery areas:
Program Delivery & Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining delivery structure, cadence, and accountability across a complex stakeholder ecosystem – spanning Bonterra, government agencies, community partners, coalition partners, and internal cross-functional teams.
Technology Execution: Coordinating delivery of Bonterra’s Apricot-based technology that supports a CVI model, including implementation milestones, product dependencies, data workflows, reporting needs, and roadmap commitments.
Technology Adoption & Technical Assistance: Supporting agencies, community leaders, and program partners in implementing and adopting the technology, data practices, and operating workflows that enable the CVI model.
The Senior Program Manager will work directly with national CVI leaders and Bonterra's Strategic Initiatives Director to advance program goals.
Internally, this role collaborates cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Professional Services, Customer Success, and Account Management teams to track milestones, manage risk, and drive sustained customer outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Own end-to-end delivery for a CVI and public safety program powered by Bonterra’s technology.
Coordinate implementation and product execution for Bonterra's Apricot-based technology – managing delivery commitments across case management, data collection, and reporting workstreams, and escalating product dependencies and risks to the appropriate internal teams.
Support technical assistance related to technology implementation, adoption, data workflows, reporting, and program operations for government agencies, community partners, and other stakeholders.
Serve as a primary point of contact and strategic liaison with CVI partners and leaders.
Collaborate closely with Bonterra’s Strategic Initiatives Director and PMO director to ensure program alignment with organizational strategy, customer commitments, and strategic program goals.
Create and manage the program operating rhythm, including internal workstream meetings, partner touchpoints, executive updates, decision logs, risk reviews, and escalation pathways.
Define, monitor, and drive success across multiple program KPIs, using data to surface insights and inform decision-making.
Engage directly with product and engineering teams to surface customer needs, track feature milestones, and mitigate risk in product delivery.
Create and manage long- and short-term program delivery plans, including milestone targets, resource allocation, and client-aligned deadlines.
Manage program scope, budget, revenue, and utilization in partnership with Professional Services, Finance, Customer Success, and Account Management.
Identify scope changes, budget risks, resource constraints, and delivery tradeoffs early, and support clear decision-making with internal and external stakeholders.
Lead difficult conversations with partners and community stakeholders regarding program budgets, timelines, and strategic priorities.
Serve as a point of executive presence for the program — representing Bonterra and the program’s mission in high-visibility settings with senior government and non-profit leaders.
Proactively identify and respond to risks that could impact program outcomes, customer satisfaction, or partner relationships.
Perform quality control on program deliverables and adjust plans as client and stakeholder needs evolve.
Improve program effectiveness by refining delivery processes and recommending practical enhancements.
Occasional onsite meetings with government agencies, community partners, or program stakeholders may be required.
Requirements
5+ years of project or program management experience, including complex, cross-functional programs with multiple workstreams, stakeholders, timelines, and delivery risks.
Professional experience in public health, human services, social services, social work, public sector programs, nonprofit programs, criminal justice reform, public safety, or a related social-impact field.
Demonstrated ability to drive program success across multiple KPIs with data-informed decision-making.
Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior government officials, law enforcement leadership, and community stakeholders.
Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to track milestones, manage dependencies, escalate risks, and support customer-facing technology delivery.
Outstanding communication and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable program insights.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with experience managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solving mindset with technical agility and creative thinking.
Ability to analyze and visualize program data to support strategic decision-making.
Preferred Skills
PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification.
Experience managing technology-enabled programs, SaaS implementations, data-system implementations, or complex customer delivery programs.
Experience with ETO, Apricot, Penelope, or similar human services data platforms.
Experience in non-profit, government, law enforcement, or foundation-funded contexts.
Familiarity with the public safety data systems, case management platforms, dashboards, or other data-informed public sector programs.
