Position Summary
As a Software Engineer (m/f/d) on our Sports Medicine team, you will contribute to the development of software solutions that support digital hip preservation technologies. Working as part of a cross-functional project team, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain software features. In this role, you will help enhance and evolve our existing platform while gaining exposure to modern software development practices and technologies. Your work will contribute to delivering reliable, high-quality solutions that meet user and business needs.
Stryker’s Sports Medicine business focuses on minimally invasive approaches for the shoulder, knee, hip, and small joints. Your key responsibilities:
- Software System Development: Develop and maintain software solutions (C++ Windows desktop applications) in accordance with project requirements, established architecture, and quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to design, technical, and process improvements. Support the maintenance and enhancement of the existing software platform.
- Development Process: Create and maintain clear technical documentation and follow established development processes to support effective project execution and team collaboration.
- Technical Contribution: Work closely with senior engineers and technical leads to implement features, solve technical challenges, and contribute to architectural discussions.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively within international and cross-functional teams and work closely with colleagues across adjacent products and projects.
What are we looking for?
- You hold a university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Ideally, you have already gained professional experience in C++ software development, including experience with Qt, preferably within a regulated industry. However, ambitious new graduates, with a strong drive to learn and grow are also encouraged to apply
- You have gained exposure with modern development tools and practices, including Visual Studio, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and issue tracking systems.
- Initial experience across the full software development life cycle, including requirements definition, design, implementation, and verification & validation (V&V) is a plus.
- You are a proactive, self-driven, and reliable team player who thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- You communicate clearly and effectively and enjoy collaborating in an international, cross-functional environment.
- Experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is considered a plus.

Additional information
Thanks to our flexible working hours model, you will have the opportunity to work partially from home office. A regular presence on site at our location in Freiburg should always be given to build sustainable relationships and maintain personal contact with colleagues as well as the departments.
