Job Description:

The Process Maintenance Long Range Planner is a salaried professional role responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing maintenance strategies for fixed plant assets across the heap leach, crushing, and CIC operations. This position focuses on improving equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring alignment with the site’s long-term asset lifecycle objectives. The role leverages technical expertise in millwright work and maintenance planning to lead data-driven asset management initiatives. Formulate quality scope of work(s) and supporting documents for all change management projects and long-range projects. Coordinate with fellow Schedulers, Planners , Resource Coordinators and Production Team to maximize planning and scheduling of approved work. The planner is expected to recommend changes within the system to increase availability and efficiency.  Long range projects are to be delivered on time and within the determined budget. Lead by example, in all SSR Mining CC&V safety processes, ensuring complete safe practices.

Day to Day:

Process Leadership:

  • Provide balanced, strategic leadership in all functions and activities of the Maintenance Department to maximize productivity and manage costs.

  • Support the development, execution, and ongoing optimization of asset management strategies.

  • Ensure the best practice methods and continuous improvement systems are developed and maintained for the Maintenance Department.

  • Identify, recommend, and execute opportunities to reduce maintenance costs.

  • Lead and actively seek opportunities to improve equipment availability through world class maintenance practices.

  • Serve as a liaison throughout the process department to support and lead extensive and high-cost improvement projects.

General Leadership:

  • Demonstrate an unwavering focus on safety and environmental stewardship.  Provide leadership in these areas by always setting the example, inspiring our safety vision, challenging the processes, empowering the workforce, and celebrating our successes.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of annual financial operating and capital budgets and forecasts that ensure compliance with organizational and strategic expenditure requirements.

  • Develop, exemplify, and maintain positive and effective leadership and skills within the maintenance department, at all levels.

  • Develop and maintain positive and effective professional working relationships with vendors and co-workers.

  • Provide balanced strategic leadership short, medium, and long term initiatives.

  • Direct business partners by providing administrative and technical direction to achieve safe, efficient, and effective results.

  • Hold self and department members accountable to safe and productive work practices as outlined within CC&V guidelines and policies.

  • Responsible to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies before they impact operations.

  •  Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to ensure alignment across departments

Is This You??

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in mining, metals processing, or heavy industrial operations.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Technical trade certification in millwrighting or mechanical systems preferred.

  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or equivalent certification is a plus

  • Proven background in millwright work with progressive responsibility in maintenance planning or asset management.

  • Strong working knowledge of crushing systems, heap leach circuits, and CIC recovery operations.

  • Proficiency in CMMS software (e.g., SAP, JD Edwards, Pronto, or similar).

  • Experience in interpreting mechanical, electrical, and piping schematics and equipment specifications.

  • Must have knowledge of and be able to read P&ID drawings and hydraulics schematics.

  • Solid understanding of condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis).

  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Possess a strong working knowledge of CC&V’s work management is preferred.

  • Audit SAP FLOC structures and BOM’s to ensure equipment components and criticality are correct and work with strategic group to make changes as needed.

Working Conditions & Location:

  • This is a site-based position at the Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine, located in a high-altitude environment (above 8,000 feet), and this person must be able to work at high altitude.

  • Based at the mining site, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and rugged terrain.
