What will you be doing?

> Work with more experienced testers to understand application functionality, test scope, architecture, and security requirements.
> Assist in preparing test notes, evidence, vulnerability descriptions, and remediation guidance for review.
> Use testing tools such as Burp Suite and vulnerability scanners in a controlled and authorised manner.
> Contribute to clear, concise reports that explain findings, risk, and recommended remediation steps for technical stakeholders.
> Collaborate with developers, application owners, and security colleagues to support timely understanding and resolution of findings.
> Build knowledge of emerging web application threats, secure development practices, and internal testing standards.
> Participate in other security-related activities and learning opportunities based on role needs, candidate skills, and development goals. What we're looking for:
1. Bachelor's degree in a Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
2. Foundational understanding of web application security, cybersecurity principles, or secure software development concepts.
3. Interest in manual web application testing, DAST, API testing, and common vulnerability classes such as authentication, authorisation, input validation, and sensitive data exposure.
4. Some hands-on exposure through coursework, labs, internships, capture-the-flag activities, personal projects, or previous technology experience.
5. Good written communication skills with the ability to describe technical observations clearly and accurately.
6. Willingness to learn from feedback, follow defined testing processes, and ask questions when additional context is needed.
7. Detail-oriented, organised, methodical, and able to manage assigned tasks to agreed timelines.
Skills that will help you in the role:
> Basic familiarity with web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, REST APIs, authentication, and session management.
> Exposure to security testing tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Nmap, or similar tools.
> Awareness of OWASP Top 10, secure coding principles, vulnerability management, or application security concepts.
> Basic scripting or coding experience in languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar.
> Entry-level cybersecurity certifications or active study towards certifications such as Security+, CEH, eJPT, or equivalent would be beneficial but are not required.
