General Purpose of Job:

Oversee and insures quality of information provided to Anesthesia Services through revenue and reporting cycle.  Interacts with departments at all levels to insure accuracy of information and quality of processes.  Creates and coordinates anesthesia & intensivist schedules. Implements or make changes to processes to accommodate information integrity. Provides direct daily oversight of Anesthesia Services with responsibility for the daily productivity of the department and staff

  • Acts as liaison to CPSST and affiliated programs on behalf of the department.  Provides monthly A/R and collection activity reports in order to reconcile quarterly invoices to the hospital.  Ensures accuracy of the invoices prior to submitting to Administration/Accounting for processing.
  • Kronos and payroll responsibilities
  • Creates and manages monthly/quarterly anesthesia and intensivist schedules
  • Works with leadership on agenda items and meeting minutes
  • Coordinates the ACGME Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship Program, (e.g., completes all on-line annual program surveys, FRIEDA, ABA, AMA and ACGME).
  • Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of patient accounting, financial counseling. 
  • Demonstrate principles of staff leadership and ability to interact with staff in problem solving situations.
  • Proven track record in managing and improving accounts receivable.
  • Ability to apply “common sense” approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated multi-task orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex governmental regulations in regards to Medicare and Medicaid to the revenue cycle.
  • Develop and monitor specific objectives and standards for measurement of staff performance and productivity.
  • Supervise and oversee the daily operations of the department, instructing and prioritizing work and eliminating backlogs.
  • Work directly with patient families to resolve billing and service issues.
  • Works directly with support vendors to ensure contractual compliance in regards to performance and assist in resolving outstanding issues. 
  • Assists in identifying and resolving issues related to the accounts receivable, staff and interdepartmental support, Charge Master, order entry, billing suspense, claims accuracy, compliance and HIPAA as it relates to outsource billing.

  • Thorough understanding of billing requirements for Medicare/Medicaid and private payors.
  • Ability to interpret complex governmental regulations and apply practically.
  • Responsible for sound management of human resources.
  • Makes and implements decisions compatible with organizational goals.
  • Maintains composure, effectiveness, and flexibility under pressure.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; over five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
