The 2nd Shift Parts and Plates Foreman is responsible for directing and coordinating daily performance, fabrication and production activities during the second shift. This position provides hands-on leadership to shop personnel, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards and production schedules. The Foreman serves as the primary point of contact for shift operations and collaborates cross-functionally with other fabrication facilities, project management, logistics, purchasing, and others to ensure on time delivery and company objectives are consistently achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership and guidance for shop employees
- Adhere to and enforce all company policies
- Manage all aspects of the fabrication shop, including personnel, equipment, tools, materials, etc.
- Update and maintain the appropriate items in the production schedule
- Update and maintain the fabrication schedule
- Coordinate and schedule deliveries
- Establish and publish standard fabrication procedures
- Maintain high quality standards and quality control procedures to ensure that the customers get a quality product on time
- Continually evaluate production procedures to increase effectiveness of employees, efficiency of production, and improve quality
- Communicate with other departments to ensure project schedules are met
- Maintain all equipment and buildings as applicable and necessary
- Communicate with other departments and facilities, as necessary, regarding product status, quality, and delivery
- Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Make decisions that protect the best interests of the company
- Maintain a balanced workload in the shop and provide feedback to the Regional Fabrication Operations Manager as needed
- Maintain inventory levels as needed and discussed with the First Shift Foreman, Regional Fabrication Operations Manager and Purchasing.
- Determine work hours as needed to maintain delivery schedules
REQUIREMENTS:
- Managerial or supervisory experience required
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Detailed knowledge of industry
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Must be able to work 2nd shift schedule as well as overtime and Saturdays as needed
