Job Summary
As a Loader, you will be responsible for the accurate, damage-free loading of product into trailers in an efficient and safe manner to fill our Stores’ orders, meet delivery schedules and promote customer satisfaction.Job Description
Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
Experience Desired: Electric pallet jack experience a plus; Power Industrial Truck (PIT) certification optional
Education Desired: No High School diploma required
Certification or Licensing Required: Must have valid driver's license for at least two years prior to hire. Must have no commercial DUI/DWI on record. Must have no personal DUI/DWI on record within previous 5 years
Lifting Requirement: Up to 100 pounds
Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling and availability to work the times, shifts, days and overtime as necessary to meet the Company's production needs.
- Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, safety and sanitation rules, including the safe operation of equipment and helping to maintain a clean, safe working environment.
- Appropriately follow food safety procedures.
- Regularly push, pull, lift, and carry up to 90 lbs. in compliance with all safety rules.
- Operate electric pallet jack, equipment and radio frequency (RF) unit in a safe and courteous manner.
- Perform a safety check on equipment before starting an assignment.
- Verify that the dock door and the trailer are safe and secured prior to entering the trailer.
- Empty, clean and sweep trailers before loading.
- Sort, load and unload palletized product and equipment following proper procedures in order to meet customer requirements, to support the safe, damage-free delivery of product and to efficiently utilize space and proper weight distribution.
- Verify that each pallet is for the correct store before placing it on the trailer.
- Communicate with supervision regarding safety, equipment, poorly-stacked pallets, wrong store numbers, damaged goods and any problems or issues that may arise.
- Bring completed load paperwork to the office to be processed for dispatch.
- Unload non-palletized freight and backhauls.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed and assigned.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Ability to read and follow directions and have effective listening and communication skills.
