Are you passionate about export control, global trade compliance, and ensuring regulatory excellence?
We are looking for an Export Control Specialist to join our Global Trade Compliance team at HQ in Birkerød.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our international trade activities comply with export control, customs, and trade regulations, while partnering with colleagues across the business to support compliant global operations.
THE JOB
Export Control Due Diligence
- Review and perform due diligence on import, export, and cross-trade documentation, including End User Statements, customs entries, export declarations, supplier invoices, and shipping documentation.
- Maintain trade compliance records in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with R&D, Aerospace & Defense, Shipping, Procurement, Legal, Product Management, Sales, Product line Managers, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure compliant trade activities.
- Monitor and audit shipments for compliance and investigate potential export control, customs, or trade compliance issues or violations.
- Stay up to date on changes in export control, customs, sanctions, and trade regulations, and advise management on regulatory developments.
- Prepare analyses, reporting, and documentation related to export control, customs, and trade compliance.
- Follows company procedures and maintains up to date knowledge on processes to minimize the risks to the company of breaching regulations.
- Support continuous improvement of compliance processes and procedures.
Export Licensing
- Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations, including export control and sanctions, by developing, and maintaining licensing frameworks
- Assess export licensing requirements and prepare, submit, and manage export license applications with relevant authorities.
- Provide guidance on export licensing obligations across the organization to relevant stakeholders
- Coordinate with customs brokers and government authorities where required.
Export Control Operations
Conduct transaction screening and risk assessments against global export control regulations, sanctions, and trade restrictions, in alignment with the Company’s Global Country Ranking framework.
- Manage export-controlled items in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), including license verification and release of shipments held for compliance review.
- Support global trade compliance activities related to RMAs, Danish Inward Processing Relief (IPR), ATA Carnets, and other customs procedures, and ensuring adherence to applicable customs, export control, and trade compliance regulations.
- Manage incoming export control, customs, and trade compliance enquiries and escalate potential issues when necessary.
- Provide operational guidance to Shipping and Procurement on trade compliance matters.
- Develop and maintain due diligence procedures and SOPs related to export controls, international trade, and customs compliance together with Trade Compliance Management.

Qualifications
Required
- Freight Forwarder education or similar qualification.
- Export Control work experience.
- Export Control Compliance certification or relevant education.
- Minimum 3 years' experience within EU Export Control.
- Minimum 2 years' experience with Global Trade Operations Compliance.
- Experience managing import and export shipments, including export control, customs procedures, and international trade compliance requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Professional business English.
Preferred
- Global Trade and/or Customs Compliance certification.
- UK Export Control experience.
- Legal education within Export Control.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Lite, or Spire.
- Experience within Aerospace & Defense export control
- Experience with Internal Compliance Programs.
- Knowledge of customs procedures, ATA Carnets, RMAs, dangerous goods, and international freight excellence.
- Experience classifying export-controlled products in collaboration with Engineering and Product Line Management.
