What this role is all about:

We are looking for Production Flex Leads in La Crosse, WI.

Schedule Options: Production Flex Leads arrive to the production floor 15+ minutes early prepared for the shift.

  • 1st Shift: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

The Production Flex Lead is a vital support role within the plant, dedicated to keeping operations running efficiently by filling in during the absence of Operators, Leads, or Supervisors. This role actively contributes to both production and packaging processes and develops strong, hands-on expertise across multiple departments. By providing flexible support where it’s needed most, the Production Flex Lead helps maintain safety, quality, and productivity consistency throughout the facility.

Job Duties:

  • Shadow and learn from department leaders to understand daily routines, workflows, and processes.

  • Provide on-the-floor support in areas during staff absences or periods of increased demand.

  • Assist production lines when challenges arise by troubleshooting and quickly adapting to different roles as needed.

  • Partner with the supervisors on special projects and support the training of new employees.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a clean, organized, high-quality, and safe work environment.

  • Identify, correct, and report any observed safety concerns.

  • Immediately report equipment or production issues to the supervisor and communicate any variances to the production plan.

  • Serve as a flexible resource for production teams, helping resolve issues and ensuring workflow continuity.

  • Backfill for the supervisor during absences, coordinating priorities with site leadership.

  • Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure compliance with procedures and report variances promptly.

  • Support PIT’s by gathering data, complete line studies and carrying out action items. 

  • Preform safety and quality audits

  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Protocol.

  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.

  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.

  • Support safety policies and programs.

  • Consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and coach others on proper usage.

Qualifications:

 Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical school in a Science, Business, Operations Management or related field preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum three (3) years manufacturing experience required.

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a dairy and/or food production plant preferred.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure Required:

  • Forklift Certification preferred.

Our La Crosse, WI, plant is home to approximately 330 employees. This facility supplies the food, beverage, and nutritional industries with innovative functional ingredients and superior quality contract manufacturing services.

La Crosse, WI, is nestled between the Mississippi River and the rolling river bluffs.
