What you'll be doing
As Director, EX Strategic Initiatives, you'll be a key member of the Employee Experience team within People, Culture & Talent, helping shape an environment where team members feel engaged, supported, and inspired to deliver for our clients. In this role, you'll lead the end-to-end design and delivery of strategic initiatives that elevate the employee experience and transform how employees and people leaders engage with People, Culture & Talent. You'll provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership in the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs and processes that support business and people priorities. Working closely with partners across People, Culture & Talent and the broader enterprise, you'll help align stakeholders, drive meaningful outcomes, and advance initiatives that make a measurable impact across the organization.

How You'll Succeed
Strategic initiative delivery - Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex strategic initiatives that support business goals, key priorities, and employee experience outcomes. Build and execute roadmaps, plans, and work packages that move initiatives from concept to implementation with clarity and accountability.
Change management - Embed change management practices into program design and delivery to support successful adoption and sustainable outcomes. Guide stakeholders through change by identifying impacts, managing dependencies, and helping teams transition to the desired future state.
Strategic consulting - Provide thoughtful advice and actionable recommendations to senior leaders and partners across the enterprise. Synthesize complex information, assess trends and insights, and translate ideas into clear executive presentations, briefings, and strategic recommendations.
Relationship management - Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to coordinate critical project elements and ensure successful implementation. Foster alignment across stakeholders by communicating clearly, negotiating effectively, and influencing decisions with confidence.
Risk and governance management - Proactively identify risks, manage communications, and establish effective processes and governance to support delivery. Bring structure to ambiguity and create practical approaches that enable teams to move work forward with confidence.
Who you are
You have deep strategic transformation experience. You bring significant experience leading the strategy, design, and implementation of initiatives within a large, complex organization. You have demonstrated progressive responsibility in project delivery, transformation, and change management.
You’re a trusted advisor. You’re comfortable working with senior leaders and advising on complex business challenges. You know how to connect strategy to execution and influence decisions through clear, thoughtful recommendations.
You’re highly effective at leading through change. You bring a strong understanding of change management and know how to mobilize stakeholders around a shared vision. You help teams navigate ambiguity and maintain momentum through evolving priorities.
You’re an exceptional relationship builder. You collaborate effectively across functions and levels, building trust and alignment with a wide range of partners. You communicate with impact and know how to influence, negotiate, and bring people together to achieve results.
You bring relevant business insight. Experience in Human Resources is an asset. Knowledge of CIBC’s businesses and organizational structure is also an asset.
