Let’s talk about you
- Solid experience in a technical architecture, senior engineer, technical manager, senior team leader or similar role within a strong customer-centric culture.
- A broad and demonstrable knowledge of security, network, and systems with a focus on Fortinet, Juniper, Cisco, and VeloCloud SD-WAN is essential.
- Demonstrated outstanding problem-solving skills and the initiative to be proactive when issues arise, supported by professional written and verbal communication skills.
- A passion and drive for continuous learning and self-improvement, coupled with the ability to quickly gain an understanding and apply learning in new technologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading geographically dispersed or multi-disciplinary technical teams in a managed services, telecommunications or technology environment.
- Significant experience coaching and mentoring technical team members in a commercial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a dynamic environment that requires calmness, agility, decisiveness and high levels of collaboration, teamwork, and communication.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Owning, monitoring and drive key operational metrics including service availability, SLA compliance, incident performance, change success rates and customer satisfaction outcomes for ABB managed services function.
- Lead a high performing and technically advanced operational team, investing in and ensuring individual and collective capability uplift across the function.
- Provide technical leadership and best practice guidance across a range of network and security solutions, working in close collaboration with the ABB Product, Pre-sales, Sales, Technology, Engineering and Security teams.
- Partner with Product, Sales, and Technology teams to influence the strategic roadmap for Managed Network and Security Services.
- Engage with the Sales, Account Management and other ABB technical and operational teams where required to ensure an excellent customer solutions and experience.
- Listen to and consult with customers to identify technical solutions to business problems and develop and document supporting high level and detailed solution designs.
- Oversee the analysis, design, documentation, planning, deployment, and testing of complex adds, moves or changes for ABB Enterprise and Business customer services.
- Manage internal and external partner relationships.
- Use data and other techniques to identify improvements to customer solutions, including but not limited to:
- Identifying, planning, and implementing network or security system changes and improvements.
- Identifying, defining, and implementing policy or process changes.
- Training or skills gaps are identified and addressed through coaching, on the job or formal training.
- Work with the team to identify task automation opportunities to improve efficiency of the team and increase the reliability, performance, and functionality of customer solutions.
- Maintain high levels of technical competence across the function, through continued learning and application of relevant research, training, self-study, and certifications.
