Our unit clinical experts apply research in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the patient plan of care on a specific nursing inpatient unit. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Part Time-8 hours per week

  • Medical 4 South Unit

  • The Unit Clinical Expert is a clinical leader that assumes accountability for patient care outcomes by assimilating and applying research in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the patient plan of care on a specific nursing inpatient unit (or units) within Franciscan Alliance.

  • This position acts as a clinical resource to staff members providing insight and expertise into complex care issues.

  • The Unit Clinical Expert works with the Manager of Nursing, and the Clinical Educator in leading the nursing clinical practice area at the microsystem level.

  • This position collaborates with the systems-based Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at the macro system level and other members of the Healthcare team to coordinate and guide clinical activities/projects within the microsystem (facility or unit within a facility) that align with macro system level programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters Degree in Nursing with a clinical focus (clinical nurse specialist, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse leader, clinical educator) from a fully accredited graduate program offered by a college or university.  The program will be accredited by either the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).

  • 2 years Nursing/Patient Care in clinical specialty area

  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

  • Registered Nurse (RN).

  • Unit Specific Certifications - Franciscan Alliance

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
