We call it Defining Possible. This mindset goes beyond our customer solutions; it’s the foundation for your career development and the impact we have within the community.

This is more than just a job. It’s a mission.

Ready to begin your project management career by contributing to technology programmes with national significance?

As a Graduate Project Manager within our Cyber & Intelligence business, you will support the delivery of pioneering projects that solve complex challenges for internal and external customers. Your work will contribute to digital transformation programmes involving complex and sensitive data requirements.

Working alongside experienced project managers and multidisciplinary teams, you will help coordinate project delivery, engage with stakeholders and monitor costs, resources, schedules and performance. You will gain hands-on experience of the processes and professional relationships needed to deliver meaningful outcomes in defence and technology.

This is an opportunity to develop practical project management skills, build your professional network and contribute to real-world challenges from the beginning of your career.

Our Graduate Programme

Our structured two-year Graduate Programme is designed to help you turn your academic knowledge and wider experience into practical project management expertise.

Starting in September 2027, the programme will give you opportunities to experience different project types, develop your skills and interests, and build the foundations for a long-term career. You will have a dedicated mentor, buddy, project lead and line manager, providing guidance and support throughout your development.

From the beginning, you will be a valued member of the project team. You will work directly with other project managers, build your network across Northrop Grumman UK and take ownership of your development journey.

Successful completion of the programme could lead to an opportunity as a Project Support Officer or Junior Project Manager.

What you’ll do

  • Support the coordination, implementation and delivery of projects in line with organisational standards and strategy
  • Organise and support engagement with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to project governance, performance management, reporting and documentation
  • Schedule, review and manage project materials to support quality and consistency
  • Capture and track project risks, issues, actions and key performance indicators
  • Assist with forecasting and monitoring project costs, resources and schedules

Along the way, you could develop experience in:

  • Project coordination and delivery
  • Stakeholder and expectation management
  • Project governance and reporting
  • Quality and performance management
  • Risk and issue management
  • Cost, resource and schedule forecasting
  • Professional communication and collaboration

What we’re looking for

We are looking for graduates who are motivated to learn, enjoy working collaboratively and want to build a career delivering solutions to complex challenges. You will bring a proactive approach to your development and a genuine interest in how successful projects are planned, coordinated and delivered.

Essential:

  • A predicted or awarded degree in Project Management, Business Management, Engineering or a related subject (or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills through work experience or other training)
  • Familiarity with basic project management methodologies and tools
  • Experience contributing to a project delivery team, which could include a university project
  • A desire to work in a collaborative team environment
  • An interest in developing solutions to a variety of problems
  • A willingness to learn, develop and take ownership of your professional growth

We welcome applications from candidates who have gained relevant skills outside of traditional degree routes.
