Reporting Line
Reports to: Group Director of Dealer and Large Corporate financing division
Manages: 4 Dealer Funding Managers.
Role Purpose
The Head of Dealer Funding is responsible for the end-to-end management, supervision, and strategic steering of the Group’s Dealer Funding portfolio (approx. €11bn), covering more than 1,700 counterparties across 22 countries. The role ensures sound credit risk management, consistent policy implementation, strong portfolio performance, and alignment with Group risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management & Risk Oversight: Monitor portfolio quality, risk indicators, and ensure proactive mitigation actions.
- Management & Leadership: Lead and develop a team of 4 managers, ensuring consistency and high performance.
- Governance: Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory expectations.
- Strategy & Business Steering: Define and implement dealer funding strategy aligned with business and risk objectives (Product, pricing,…)
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Provide regular reporting to senior management and committees.
- International Coordination: Ensure consistency across 22 countries while adapting to local specifics.
- Risk Control & Compliance: Ensure alignment with Regulation (ECB, EBA, Basel) internal control frameworks and audit requirements.
Key Challenges
Managing a large and diversified portfolio, balancing growth and risk, ensuring consistency across regions, and anticipating dealer financial distress.
Required Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills: Strong expertise in credit risk, financial analysis, and portfolio management. Internal Rating for Dealers
Leadership Skills: Proven experience in team management and decision-making.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, stakeholder management, and ability to influence.
KPIs
Portfolio quality (cost of risk, default rate), adherence to risk appetite, reporting quality, audit results, and team performance.
Profile
10–15+ years of experience in credit risk or wholesale financing, ideally in an international and automotive finance environment.
