About the role
We seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance and repair work necessary to support the safe and reliable operation of an industrial power plant. Duties include maintaining and troubleshooting rotating equipment, industrial fans, screw conveyors, stoker systems, cranes, and mobile equipment. The role involves inspecting and correcting pump alignment, rebuilding and replacing pumps, motors, bearings, gearboxes, and conveyor components, as well as installing and modifying piping systems. Mechanics also support plant improvement projects, equipment modifications, and the installation of new systems to enhance plant performance and reliability.
Position Responsibilities
- Inspection and maintenance of rotating machinery and equipment (pumps, fans, motors).
- Inspect and repair of industrial fans to include coupling replacement, bearing replacement, motor replacement, alignment and cleaning.
- Inspect and maintenance of belt conveyors, screw conveyors, air compressors, boiler systems, pumps, water treatment equipment, stoker equipment, turbines, gear reducers and industrial equipment throughout the plant.
- Certified to make weld repairs (valves, tube repairs, pad welds, etc) on pressure parts under the Reworld R-Stamp.
- Other responsibilities include fabrication and structural welding.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on plant equipment.
- Maintenance and repair during scheduled and unscheduled boiler and equipment shutdowns.
- Industrial piping installation and repair.
- Experience with conveyors, fans, cranes, and heavy industrial equipment preferred.
- Read and interpret measuring tools, graphs, technical manuals and blueprints.
- Follow all health and safety rules and regulations mandated by law and per the policies and procedures. Keep work area clean, safe and orderly.
Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED required. Formal technical or apprenticeship training is desired.
- Five years or more experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Understanding blueprints.
- Ability to perform all welding scopes to include SMAW, TIG and MIG welding, welding carbon steel and stainless steel. Must be able to certify under Reworld’s R-Stamp for boiler code repairs.
- Candidate must possess excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills to safely and effectively inspect, repair, and maintain precision mechanical equipment. The position requires the ability to perform detailed tasks in confined spaces, awkward positions, and other challenging work environments while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and safety.
- Oral and written communication skills, along with problem solving and decision-making ability.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to follow standard operating & safety procedures.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- The position requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule to support plant operations and emergency response needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands of the Role
- The work environment regularly requires access to industrial plant areas with rotating equipment. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, confined spaces, elevated work areas, airborne contaminants, hazardous chemicals, electrical energy, and vibration, and must follow all applicable safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Pay Transparency
Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 33.22 - 44.18 USD per hour
