Role: Senior Accountant
Location: Retford
Salary: Up to £42,000 (dependent on experience)
This is a varied general practice role, offering exposure across accounts, tax, bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts. It would suit an experienced practice accountant who is confident managing client assignments, building relationships and supporting junior colleagues, while continuing to develop their technical knowledge and career.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant job include:
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing business tax computations and supporting schedules
• Completing bookkeeping, VAT returns and management accounts where required
• Managing client assignments from preparation through to completion
• Dealing with year-end queries and ad-hoc client requirements
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients
• Providing support and advice on accounting software, including cloud-based packages
• Working alongside managers and directors on more complex assignments
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
• Managing workloads effectively and ensuring deadlines are met
• Maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client service
Requirements of the Senior Accountant job include:
• Previous experience within an UK accountancy practice
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive attitude, with a willingness to support and develop junior colleagues
