Job Description

As our QA Officer, you will be right at the heart of the action in Karawatha, Brisbane. Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will take full ownership of hands-on quality verification, uphold plant compliance, and safeguard world-class food safety standards across every operational shift. You will…

• Monitor Quality Controller and operational staff verification activities, including daily CCP audits, highlighting issues in real time.
• Oversee general plant GMP and conduct pre-operational checks post-cleaning to verify effectiveness.
• Investigate non-conforming products, foreign objects, and raw material defects through root cause analysis and risk assessment.
• Deliver toolbox training, coaching, and mentoring to production and packing staff across departments.
• Raise corrective action reports for major process deviations and follow up to ensure resolution.
• Conduct handover discussions with incoming QC/QA staff and submit daily reports to management.
• Perform internal audits, calibration, and sanitation verification activities across 24/7 rotating shifts.

You have/are…

• Minimum 1 year of practical food industry experience in QA/QC roles.
• Sound knowledge and practical application of HACCP, GMP, and GFSI standards (e.g., BRC).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), Google Sheets, and AI tools.
• Strong communication, root cause analysis, proactivity, and risk assessment skills across all levels.
• Full availability and flexibility to commit to a 24/7 rotating roster covering morning, afternoon, and night shifts across Monday to Sunday.
• Degree in Food Science/Technology or related field (desirable).
