Family Assistant / Mother's Helper

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive full-time Family Assistant / Mother’s Helper to support parents in caring for school-aged children and managing light household tasks. Parents are typically present in the home. This position requires evening and weekend availability and is heavily focused on after-school transportation, daily cleanup related to the children, and maintaining organized common areas. A vehicle is provided for use during work hours.

What You Will Do

• Childcare Support
• School pick-ups and drop-offs
• Transport children to and from sports, extracurricular activities, and playdates
• A vehicle is provided for use during work hours
• Support meals and snacks, including light meal preparation and cleanup
• Assist with school-related tasks (packing/unpacking backpacks)
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities (games, crafts, reading, outdoor play)
• Be detail-oriented and attentive to each child’s personality and needs
• Household Support
• Light housekeeping (tidying playroom, laundry)
• Assist with simple household tasks (loading/unloading dishwasher, light meal prep, restocking items)
• Organizing children’s rooms, closets, and playrooms
• Grocery shopping and running household errands as needed
• General Support
• Follow the parent’s guidance and household routines
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with parents
• Ensure a safe, positive, and nurturing environment

What You Will Bring

• Valid BC Driver’s License
• Experience caring for children (babysitting, childcare, camp counselor, etc.)
• Comfortable working with a parent present in the home
• Responsible, dependable, and punctual
• Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
