The Administrative Medical Director, Medical Practice Operations, provides integrated physician and administrative leadership for assigned Franciscan Physician Network practices and services. The position is accountable for aligning clinical excellence with operational and financial performance while advancing strategic growth, access, quality, and patient experience. Working across physician, operational, hospital, and system leadership, this role translates organizational strategy into sustainable practice performance and fosters an engaged, high-performing physician enterprise grounded in the Franciscan Mission and Values.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Provides medical and clinical leadership for assigned practices.
• Oversee physicians and advanced practice providers in matters of clinical practice, professional conduct, medical competency, quality, and performance. Promote physician engagement and alignment with organizational clinical and operational priorities.
• Provide executive oversight of assigned physician practice operations.
• Partner with and directs operational leaders to ensure efficient workflows, effective resource utilization, appropriate staffing, patient access, service excellence, and consistent execution of FPN operating standards.
• Develop and implement short- and long-range strategic plans for assigned practices and services
• Provide oversight of operating and capital budgets for assigned areas.
• Develop physician, advanced practice provider, and practice workforce strategies addressing current and future organizational needs.
• Ensure assigned practices operate in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements.
• Lead and develop assigned leaders and teams through performance management, coaching, feedback, and professional development.
• Build a collaborative culture consistent with the Franciscan Mission and Values and fosters effective relationships among physicians, operational leaders, hospital leadership, and system functions.
• Develop productive relationships with hospitals, physicians, community organizations, healthcare partners, and other key stakeholders.
• Represent FPN as appropriate and supports alignment between physician practices, hospital operations, and system initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Doctorate M.D or D.O - Required
• Master's Degree Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or an equivalent program from an accredited program - Preferred
• 7 years progressively responsible experience in physician practice, healthcare, or medical group leadership, including responsibility for clinical and/or operational performance. - Required
• 3 years leadership experience with responsibility for physicians, advanced practice providers, operational leaders, or multidisciplinary healthcare teams. - Required
• 3 years leadership experience with physician practice operations, quality and performance improvement, financial management, strategic planning, and provider workforce planning. - Required
• Experience leading a multispecialty physician practice or medical group - Preferred
• Experience with responsibility across multiple practice locations, service lines, or markets. - Preferred
• Physician License (DR) - State Licensing Board Current unrestricted physician license in the applicable state(s), or eligibility to obtain required licensure - Required
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association if required based upon clinical responsibilities
