About the job

Based within the Food & Beverage Department at Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou, the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage is responsibility for directing training, supervising, planning, coordinating, of all areas within the Food & Beverage department, ensuring quality products for our guests, and secure profit margins while always maintaining the corporate image of the company.

As Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, you will responsible for the following duties:

• Achieve divisional People, Product, and Profit goals.
• Ensure guest satisfaction in dining experience in line with MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs) and Pillars.
• Maintain quality and consistency of product and service standards – including LQEs, Pillars, Benchmark standards, and Forbes requirements.
• Maximize F&B revenue and covers through effective promotions and control.
• Drive continuous improvement in service and product offerings based on market research and guest feedback.
• Ensure budget compliance and meet/exceed financial targets.
• Foster a motivated, high-performing team culture and prioritize colleague development.

As Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, we expect from you:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in F&B Division departments and at least 1 year as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage in luxury hotels
• Functional and technical knowledge of F&B operations
• Mandarin speaking, effective verbal and written communication skills in English
• Problem-solving skills and ability to handle conflict situations
• Ability to interface with guests, resolve service concerns
• Strong interpersonal skills with front-of-house presence
• Good at establishing clear directions, setting goals, and organizing work
• Maintains two-way dialogue, motivates teams, and brings out the best in people
• Demonstrates leadership qualities: empowerment, ownership, and visibility
