Aveda Institute New Mexico is looking for a highly organized, relationship-driven professional to join our team as a
Student Success Coordinator.
This is a student-facing role for someone who enjoys helping people move forward, solving problems, building
relationships, and creating structure around important milestones.
The Student Success Coordinator supports students throughout their entire educational journey-from orientation and
onboarding through attendance support, student success planning, career preparation, externships, graduation, and entry into the professional beauty and wellness industry.
This person works closely with Admissions, Education, Financial Aid, the Registrar/Business Office, school leadership,
and industry partners to help students stay engaged, understand expectations, access the right resources, and
successfully progress toward graduation and employment.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coordinate new student orientations.
- Help new students transition smoothly from Admissions into active enrollment.
- Build strong relationships with students and serve as a visible, approachable resource throughout the school.
- Conduct student success and attendance intervention meetings.
- Develop and monitor Student Improvement Plans when students need additional structure or support.
- Proactively follow up with students who may be struggling with attendance, engagement, or other barriers.
- Help students understand school expectations, available resources, and next steps.
- Facilitate the student accommodation process and help coordinate approved accommodations.
- Maintain working knowledge of Title IX and recognize when concerns require referral or escalation.
- Help students develop career goals and prepare for employment.
- Assist with resumes, portfolios, interview preparation, professional communication, and job-search strategies.
- Coordinate externship opportunities and maintain relationships with salons, spas, and other industry partners.
- Support students as they move toward graduation and entry into the professional workforce.
- Maintain accurate and timely student documentation.
- Work collaboratively across departments to help create a strong and consistent student experience.

Requirements
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize multiple responsibilities, deadlines, and follow-up obligations.
- Comfort using email, calendars, spreadsheets, presentation tools, and electronic recordkeeping systems.
- Ability to work effectively with students from varied backgrounds and circumstances.
Preferred
- Associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in student services, education, advising, admissions, career services, workforce development, case management, recruiting, training, hospitality leadership, or a related field.
- Experience facilitating orientations, workshops, or group presentations.
- Experience managing an ongoing caseload or portfolio of students, clients, participants, or employees.
- Experience with career coaching, employment placement, recruiting, or employer relations.
- Familiarity with ADA accommodations, Title IX, FERPA, Satisfactory Academic Progress, or related student-support processes.
