The Valet & Transportation attendant position is the first and last point of contact for our members and guests, and will be responsible to create positive, lasting impressions for our members and guests. The Valet position will be responsible for assisting with parking, as well as driving transit vans to transport passengers onsite or to offsite locations. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employeesDuties & Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional service and communication at all times with members, guests, and team members.
Meet and greet all arriving/departing members and guests in a timely manner.
Park and retrieve member, guest and customer vehicles or golf carts in specified areas in an efficient and safe manner.
Will be responsible to drive, pick up, or drop off members and VIP guests around the local area, which includes the airport.
Perform drive and park assignments per department policies/procedures.
Provide member assistance and information, such as giving directions, handling baggage, assisting with wheelchairs loading and unloading, etc.
Ensure that members and guests belongings are retrieved and delivered to the proper outlet.
Maintain clean transportation shuttles and company vehicles (basic cleaning services including car wash, wiping interiors, and brief vacuuming to remove sand and dirt, but not full detailing services).
Check condition of transport vehicle’s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure everything is in working order.
Keep Valet location neat and clutter-free
Partner with F&B staff to keep apprised of reservations for arrivals/departures.
Log all vehicles, passengers and golf bags that come through valet
Communicate with multiple locations and departments to ensure timely service
Transportation locally and out of town (L.A.)
Keep all club vehicles clean, and stocked with appropriate supplies and maintain adequate fuel levels
Any addition duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Valid U.S. Driver’s license or International Equivalent.
High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
At least six (6) months of guest-service experience in a high-volume environment at a restaurant, resort, or private club.
Prior valet attendant in luxury club or private resort setting (preferred).
Proficient in proper and safe driving of vehicles.
Driving record that meets the Club’s insurance requirements.
Additional Requirements
Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and use vision, hearing, and hands/arms to drive multi-passenger vehicles.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length due to business demands.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
