JOB SUMMARY: We are currently hiring a Mobile Diesel/Trailer Technician in Laredo, TX who will be responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on our trucks and trailers, which include equipment by Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliners, Utility, and Thermo King. This includes all general and complex repairs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key Responsibilities
Performing scheduled and non-routine repairs to company/contractor fleet to meet DOT standards
Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
Suspension and steering systems diagnostics and repair
Air and hydraulic braking systems diagnostics and repair
Electrical and lighting diagnostics and repair
Repair complex cooling systems
Repair or replace Auxilary Power Units
Trailer Body repairs
ThermoKing and Carrier refrigeration repairs
Retro Fit refrigeration units
Preventable Maintenance on tractor trailer and trailer repairs
Changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
Tire replacements and repairs
Ordering parts and keeping up with inventory
Maintaining a clean and neat shop
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
Basic Tool set for job functions
5+ years of general heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience
5+ years of Trailer Mechanic experience
5+ years of Trailer Body experience
5+ years of ThermoKing/Carrier refrigeration repair experience
3+ years of vendor/client relations
3+ years inventory experience
Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software.
Microsoft Office experience
Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals and written instruction
Valid Class C driver's license
Ability to clearly read, write and speak English
Basic math calculations
Preferred Qualifications
Cummins or Detroit Certifications
Commercial Inspection Certification

Climbing ladders, stairs, and platforms
Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
Work Experience:
5+ years as Fleet Technician
