Position Description


Reporting directly to the Men’s Head of Development Teams, the M-YNT U15 Head Coach will be responsible for educating, equipping, and developing our top talents through age-appropriate, skill-building approaches with the goal of grooming players to play for our Senior National Teams. This role requires the implementation of coaching expertise, excellent in-person and remote communication skills, and collaboration with peers in identifying, selecting, developing, and transitioning talents through the player pathway.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as Head Coach of the Men's Youth National Team U15 (MYNT); assist other Youth National Teams as needed
  • Collaborate with the MYNT Head of Development to build the aligned player environment defined by U.S. Soccer's Player Development Philosophy ("The U.S. Way", cultural anchors, performance anchors, key qualities, position profiles, game model, methodology)
  • Deliver the U.S. Player Pathway document's areas of focus for the relevant ages and stages
  • Commit to delivering the vision, mission, and objectives of U.S. Soccer and the broader National Teams strategy to players and staff
  • Lead and support a high-performance environment for the U15 team, on and off the field
  • Regularly assesses the performance environment and sets realistic, achievable improvement objectives for players and staff.
  • Oversee individual development and performance for both players and staff
  • Support U14 Talent Identification initiatives
  • Work with the Talent ID department to identify, report, record, and select high-potential players across the pathway
  • Contribute player insights to the talent identification audit process to support selection decisions
  • Own the international development of high-potential players in the pathway
  • Apply the "plan, perform, reflect, refine" model to all program delivery
  • Lead post-camp reviews for players and staff, aligned with the overall National Teams strategy
  • Complete annual goal-setting and performance review discussions with staff
  • Engage in post-camp reviews with the Head of Development and update own personal development plan accordingly
  • Drives a culture of building outstanding players, staff, and club relationships
  • Build strong relationships with clubs and players through regular strategic visits, supporting U.S. Soccer's club engagement program
  • Contribute to U.S. Soccer Coaching Education Programs as requested by the Head of Development

Requirements


Minimum Qualifications

  • USSF "A" License or higher (or comparable UEFA A)
  • Minimum five years of coaching experience in elite youth development
  • Demonstrated track record of developing individual players
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage both self and others
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, demanding environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor
  • Ability to connect day-to-day coaching details to the broader program vision and mission
  • Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and video editing
  • Solid understanding of child development and maturation
  • Passion for and knowledge of talent identification
  • Ability to work within a wider coaching team and influence coaching practice across the U.S. Soccer landscape
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Ability to relocate to the National Training Facility in Atlanta, GA within 90 days of offer


Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Coaching education experience
  • Thorough institutional knowledge of U.S. Soccer’s mission, goals, technical plan, policies, practices, and procedures
