- Lead, coach, develop, and retain brokerage personnel while ensuring the organization has the appropriate skills and capacity to meet current and future business needs.
- Make staffing, organizational, and talent recommendations based on business demand, performance, productivity, and strategic priorities.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability for individual contributors and brokerage leadership.
- Partner with business segment leaders to understand current and anticipated transportation needs and ensure brokerage resources are aligned accordingly.
- Maintain an effective operating interface between the centralized brokerage function and TAKKION’s business segments.
- Identify opportunities to leverage enterprise freight volume, carrier relationships, purchasing patterns, and market conditions to improve transportation economics.
- Oversee the effective use of transportation management systems, pricing platforms, market-data tools, and related technology.
- Evaluate and implement technology-enabled improvements, including automation and AI-assisted tools, where they enhance pricing, data quality, market intelligence, productivity, or execution.
- Develop and maintain brokerage policies, procedures, controls, and documentation that support consistent execution, compliance, and scalability.
- Develop and implement carrier scorecards utilizing external and internal data.
- Ensure brokerage activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, contractual requirements, and carrier standards.
- Collaborate with Finance and other stakeholders to improve visibility into brokerage profitability, transportation spend, cost savings, and performance trends.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, efficiency, carrier performance, pricing accuracy, margin, and operational scalability.
