Description
SENIOR MECHANIC
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanic for an exciting opportunity on a jack-up rig in the Middle East. This is a direct-hire position with an anticipated duration of 1-1.5 years, starting ASAP. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining equipment and ensuring smooth offshore operations, fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical systems and equipment aboard the jack-up rig to ensure safe and efficient functionality.
- Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure adherence to best practices and safety standards in maintenance operations.
- Monitor and inspect mechanical systems regularly, identifying potential issues and addressing them proactively.
- Oversee and guide junior mechanics, offering mentorship and training as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Adhere strictly to international offshore safety standards and company policies.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment on operational goals and reduce downtime.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in offshore or related mechanical roles, preferably in a jack-up rig environment.
- Expertise in mechanical systems such as pumps, engines, compressors, and hydraulics.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, offshore environment.
Certifications
- Valid TBOSIET (Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) certification.
- Current offshore medical certification, ensuring fitness for offshore operations.
- A valid passport, enabling international travel.
