Position Summary
The Senior Software Engineer works within Light & Wonder’s Game Framework SDK team known as the GDK (Game Development Kit) team to support the development of compelling game experiences for casino products. The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver high quality and timely software for all assigned projects. It will require the development, support, and maintenance of a reusable framework used by multiple game studios across the globe. This position must demonstrate a high degree of initiative and is accountable for the thorough implementation of all tasks assigned.

Deliver robust, scalable, and reusable framework software that multiple game studios can build on.
Lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
Ensure software meets functional, technical, and gaming-regulatory standards.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's development processes and tooling.
Essential Job Functions:
Design, develop, test, and integrate software tasks and projects of moderate to high complexity, working independently.
Develop expert knowledge of the GDK code base and subsystems and contribute to their advancement and maintenance.
Take ownership of work through the full SDLC, including requirements gathering and testing guidance.
Partner with other departments to identify and build reusable software components.
Conduct and participate in code reviews to uphold software quality.
Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the team.
Maintain current knowledge of new methods, best practices, and emerging technologies, and stay aware of competitive products.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience on a software development team.
Proficiency in C# and/or C++.
Proficiency with debugging and profiling tools.
Strong code review skills.
Solid understanding of software development processes.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Must be able to obtain and hold applicable Gaming Registrations/Licenses.
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of Unity 3D or Godot Game Engine is highly preferred.
Knowledge of Python and Typescript is preferred.
Game development experience.
Strong grounding in design patterns and object-oriented programming.
Use of Performance monitors for optimizations
Test Driven Development (TDD)
Agile Development practices
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
