Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

Summary:

Provides patient handling assistance to support and function as part of the patient care team.

Responsibilities:

Will educate staff on use of patient handling equipment.Utilizes patient handling equipment that assists in the repositioning, lifting, transferring and ambulation of patients.Maintain all competencies and annual employee requirements.Documents activity, level of assistance, and distance for each patient intervention.Assists with the repositioning, lifting, transferring and ambulation of patients.Works collaboratively with the team in a supportive role and may include answering phones, call lights, and runner activities.Works collaboratively as part of the nursing-patient care service team and adheres to department and hospital base procedures.
