12 months Contract - Business Analyst, Private Bank Credit Risk Applications (Through an External Agency Payroll Provider)

Our Global Products & Solution (GPS) platform supports Structured Products, Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Lending businesses, and we are currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated Business Analyst to provide support on the ‘Run-the-Bank’ activities for Credit Availability Check.

The role focuses on translating business needs into practical technology solutions, bridging gap between business needs and technology solutions to support the Product Owner of Global Lending Platform to cover existing and new applications for Credit Availability Check.

Note: This is a 12 months contract role with an external agency payroll provider.

YOUR CHALLENGE

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to identify, analyse, and document business requirements, ensuring they align with strategic objectives.
• Review existing business processes to spot gaps, inefficiencies, and risks, and recommend practical, measurable improvements to support Run-the-Bank activities.
• Convert business needs into clear delivery artefacts such as business requirement documents, user stories, process maps, acceptance criteria, and decision logs.
• Challenge requirements constructively, evaluate solution options and help stakeholders reach clear decisions on scope, priorities and expected outcomes.
• Document end-to-end user journeys or workflows, supporting architecture, product owners and software development teams.
• Maintain requirements traceability, manage controlled change processes, and ensure alignment from discovery to delivery.

Data & System Integration Expertise

• Conduct in-depth analysis of existing system interfaces, payloads, and data exchanges across integrated platforms. Document granular field-level mappings and dependencies.
• Review and catalogue relevant database schemas, table structures, relationships, and usage patterns to support impact assessments and solution design.
• Model and document integrated workflows encompassing user interfaces, APIs, backend services, and databases.
• Lead the definition of solution specifications, including detailed functional designs, interface contracts, and non-functional requirements.
• Develop clear, traceable solution artefacts such as requirement specification documents, test strategies, end-to-end test cases, architectural blueprints, and implementation roadmaps.

Client Management (Internal & External)

• Collaborate proactively with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Development Teams to ensure technical feasibility, scalability, and adherence to enterprise architecture principles.
• Support change management, release planning, and compliance with firm-wide risk and regulatory standards.
• Uphold integrity, due diligence, and fair dealing in line with Julius Baer’s values.
• Contribute to long-term software strategy and engineering culture within GPS.

Regulatory responsibilities &/or risk management

• Meet all legal, regulatory, and compliance standards/requirements.
• Adhere to the standards and expectations outlined in the relevant user manuals and guidelines.
• Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including, but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

YOUR PROFILE

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a business analysis, systems analysis, or equivalent role within an IT function related to Credit Risk, preferably in private banking or wealth management.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage given the multinational environment.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence and preferably with working experience within an Agile/Scrum framework. Experience/exposure to T24 core banking system will also be an advantage
• Skilled in SQL for data extraction, validation, and analysis; able to query and interpret database schemas and table relationships.
• Capable of working autonomously and proactively within a global, matrixed team structure, taking ownership of tasks and driving initiatives forward.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong motivation, and dedication to achieving team and organisational goals — willing to “go the extra mile” when needed.
• Strong collaborator and team player, adept at building relationships across functions, including Front Office, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Risk.
• Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at various levels — from operational users to architects and product owners.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Committed to ethical standards, integrity, and compliance, with a keen awareness of risk management, data privacy, and industry regulatory obligations. + Yrs of experience or working as tester, credit officer, BA in the past
