What you’ll contribute to

As a Public Affairs Coordinator, you will play a key role in shaping and sharing Toyota's story. Working across our Corporate, Lifestyle and/or Motoring portfolios, you'll develop and deliver engaging communications, build strong media relationships, and support impactful public relations initiatives that enhance our reputation, mitigate issues and strengthen our brand presence.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence how Toyota is represented in the market, helping to connect our purpose, products and people with the audiences that matter most. 

We're currently recruiting for two opportunities (One Permanent and One Max term until October 2027) within our Public Affairs team based at Port Melbourne.

How you’ll make an impact 

  • Support the development and delivery of public relations and communications strategies including but not limited to Corporate, Lifestyle & Product streams.

  • Coordinate PR activities, campaigns, events and social media related activity that align with Toyota's sales and marketing objectives.

  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of media materials, including press releases, media kits and communications assets.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with media representatives, agencies and talent to maximise brand exposure.

  • Collaborate closely with marketing teams and agency partners to identify and execute PR and social opportunities that support broader business initiatives.

  • Monitor, maintain and report on budgets, performance metrics, PR and social activities to support planning and forecasting processes.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance the effectiveness and return on investment of public affairs activities.

Your attributes – If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! 

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Arts, Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Experience in public affairs, communications, marketing, project management or strategy, highly regarded.

  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • An understanding of the Australian automotive industry and sales and marketing disciplines, as well as key media stakeholders, will be advantageous.
