Department: Inpatient Rehabilitation-Physical Therapy
Shifts Available: Days
Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)
Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm(Weekend and Holiday Rotation Requirements)
Location: St. Joseph Medical Center- Kansas City, MO
We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist (PT, DPT) to join our inpatient acute care rehabilitation team. This role focuses on hospital-based physical therapy, early mobility, functional rehabilitation, discharge planning, and patient-centered care. The Physical Therapist will evaluate patients and deliver evidence-based interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence while supporting safe transitions of care.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):
- Perform inpatient evaluations and develop individualized plans of care (POC)
- Provide direct patient care, including mobility, gait, transfer, and balance training
- Deliver a 1:1 therapy session focused on functional outcomes and safe discharge
- Complete documentation and coordinate discharge planning/DME needs
- Collaborate with PTAs and interdisciplinary hospital teams
Qualifications

- Bachelor/Master's/Doctorate/Certificate degree in Physical Therapy.
- Current state Physical Therapy license.
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it.
