Field Service Engineer / CNC Service Engineer
Location: Michigan
Job Type: Full-Time
Base Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 per year (based on experience)
A leading manufacturer of high-precision CNC machine tools, 5-axis machining centers, CNC turning centers, and horitzontal and vertical machining centers is seeking a Field Service Engineer / CNC Service Engineer based in Michigan to support distributors and end users across the US.
Field Service Engineer / CNC Service Engineer Responsibilities
- Travel nationally to install, service, and maintain CNC machine tools, including 5-axis machining centers, CNC turning centers, horizontal and vertical machining centers.
- Perform machine installations, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to maximize customer uptime and machine performance.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC control-related issues.
- Analyze technical problems, implement corrective actions, and provide clear recommendations to customers and internal teams.
- Support distributors and end users with technical guidance, machine optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate service reports and communicate service activities, findings, and recommendations.
Field Service Engineer / CNC Service Engineer Requirements
- Prior experience installing, servicing or maintaining CNC machine tools, 5-axis machining centers, or similar precision machinery.
- Strong understanding of CNC control systems such as Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol, or similar platforms.
- Engineering degree, technical degree, or machine tool technology background is preferred but not required, candidates with a strong field service or maintenance background working with CNC controlled machine tools are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel nationally to support customers and distributors.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
