In this position, you’ll work closely with our pharmacy and clinical teams to ensure medications are prepared accurately, pharmacy operations run smoothly, and quality and safety standards are consistently maintained. Requirements

Essential Functions: 

· Following established policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.

· Assist with daily, weekly and monthly Quality Assurance activities including temperature monitoring of product environment and QA testing of compounding batches.

· Compounding medications using sterile aseptic technique.

· Prescription filing under the supervision of a pharmacist.

· Prescription billing.

· Supply room organization and cleaning.

· Order, label, and count stock of medications.

· Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices.

· Enter data from forms and documents into databases and other documents.

· Develop efficiencies in day to day operations.

· Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of Nura.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

· Current Pharmacy Technician License through the MN Board of Pharmacy.

· PTCB or ExCPT pharmacy technician certification preferred.

· Complete 40 hours of sterile products training by an ACPE accredited provider. Paid for by organization.

· Exceptional organizational skills.

· Ability to understand and follow complex detailed instructions.

· Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

· Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.

· Ability to understand and follow protocol and procedure.

· Highly proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

· Previous IV Training preferred.

· Prior hospital experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

Current Pharmacy Technician License through the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.

Work conditions:

The duties of this position are performed in a Sterile/Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacy and involve frequent interruptions working closely with others. The noise level is generally low to moderate. The temperature level is generally average indoor room temperature or slightly cooler to allow for employee comfort while gowned. As an in-house pharmacy, pharmacists will work closely with clinic providers and need to communicate professionally on a regular basis. Occasionally an urgent request to supply a prescription at short notice will occur and reasonable accommodations must be made to fulfill the needs in the best interest of the patient.  The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
