Description
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering.
- Over 5 years of experience in the design or implementation of mechanical products, with experience in power tools preferred.
- Ability and willingness to think creatively and propose new concepts in design and manufacturing. Good capability to provide innovative solutions to complex problems; solid understanding of mechanical design theory and applications.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects independently with minimal supervision. Have good self-motivation ability.
- Knowledge and experience in plastics, machining, powdered metal parts, stamping parts, casting parts, and heat treatment of ferrous materials are preferred.
- Proficient in completing 3D drawings, 2D drawings, and design calculations. Experience with CATIA is preferred.
- Be familiar with GD&T, dimensional Stack_up, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with US and international teams.
- Proficient in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Eager to learn and willing to share knowledge and experience within the team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to develop new ideas or concepts from the input of product managers and chief engineers.
- Research and design new mechanism parts, sub-assembly, and working units to support power tool functions.
- Research and explore new manufacturing processes to enhance current and future designs for better DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
- Analyze the integrity and functionality of new designs by using the tools of mechanical theory calculation, CAE, dimensional Stack_up, DFMEA, and so on.
- Develop prototype models, conduct prototype evaluation and testing, and maintain comprehensive testing records.
- Work with program manager office, operation teams, and suppliers to release design and build engineering sample lot, work with reliability engineer and test center to submit/track/tear down engineering test samples, improve design based on test result if needed. Complete the processes from concept to production.
- Issue and maintain records of engineering drawings/files and engineering change notices for product manufacturing and quality assessment.
