Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Graphics Tufting Supervisor to lead our Graphics Tufting team in the artificial turf manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will supervise daily tufting and coating operations for graphics and logo production, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met while training and developing team members. Primary responsibilities involve scheduling manpower, coordinating with production planning based on orders, capacity, and manpower, and driving continuous improvement across the department. This role will work A-shift (day shift) with potential extended hours to support seasonal demand. The supervisor will also provide support to B-shift (night shift) and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Champion a safety-first culture within the department by modeling safe behavior and holding the team accountable to safety standards, while enforcing safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment, and promptly reporting and resolving safety concerns or incidents.

  • Instill a dedication to quality across the team, fostering a mindset centered on precision, consistency, and continuous attention to detail in every job.

  • Responsible for time and attendance administration for the department, ensuring accurate and timely records and consistent, fair application of all Tarkett policies.

  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily activities of Graphics Tufting machine operators to meet safety, and quality, and production targets.

  • Assign work and adjust manpower allocation based on current orders, production capacity, and department needs, in coordination with plant management and the supply chain team.

  • Train, coach, and develop team members on tufting and coating equipment operation, graphics and logo specifications, and safety procedures.

  • Onboard new operators as needed ensuring successful and timely acclimation to department standards.

  • Monitor and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess team and equipment performance and identify and implement improvement actions.

  • Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, fiber, and consumables for the tufting area, and coordinate with the purchasing team to maintain adequate stock.

  • Ensure Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (WISOPs) are current, organized, and accessible; generate new WISOPs for new equipment or processes.

  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide regular feedback, and address performance or conduct issues in accordance with company policy.

  • Lead department-specific projects and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency and reducing waste.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; associate degree or technical certification preferred; or three to five years of related manufacturing or tufting experience, including prior lead or supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong MS office skills, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience in SAP, Oracle, Workday, or ADP strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, to ensure understanding of conveyed goals, objectives, and instructions across multiple shifts.

  • Exceptional level of demonstrated accountability, responsibility, and integrity.

  • Pursuit of excellence without sacrificing safety, quality, moral integrity, or responsibility.

  • Willingness to work extended schedules to support seasonal demand.

  • Maintain positive attitude and uplift employee moral during demanding seasonal schedules.

  • Ability to maintain time, attendance, employee evaluations, shift instruction, KPI tracking, and corrective action across multiple shifts.

  • Frequent walking, standing, sitting, kneeling

  • Use of hands to type, grasp/handle, or reach with hands and arms

  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds. 

  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment as needed
