Primarily Monday through Friday; includes rotating weekends and holidays as needed.

Pay Range:

$35.50 - $53.25

Major Responsibilities: Human Resources Administration 1)•Coordinates staff schedules 2)•Maintains a maximum exam schedule with minimal staff hours 3)•Approves all PTO requests and provides coverage through scheduling 4)•Monitors and documents staff performance to provide feedback to manager for yearly performance appraisal. 5)•Coordinates orientation and training of new staff with competencies and procedure instruction. 6)•Addresses all staff concerns in conjunction with Manager. 7)Creates policy and procedure in conjunction with Manager Maintenance of equipment and Department 1)•Document and report equipment trouble 2)•Coordinate preventive maintenance 3)•Document all service calls Budgeting 1)•Monitor departmental expenses to maintain efficient operating budget 2)•Orders and maintains appropriate supply levels 3)Assists Manager with creating budget for next fiscal year Performs diagnostic radiology procedures and mammograms on physician referred patients according to established clinical protocols and MQSA Quality Guidelines. Delivers patient care in accordance with department/hospital standards; 1)•uses proper telephone scripting at all times 2)•accurately labels and identifies images 3)•positions the breast to obtain the appropriate standard and alternative views 4)•adjusts positioning and technique for thorough quality exam based on patient’s anatomy and condition 5)•selects technical factors to ensure appropriate image contrast and radiographic density 6)•instructs patients regarding activities performed throughout the radiology/mammography procedure 7)•keeps patient informed and encourages patient to ask questions regarding own care 8)•applies radiation protection to patient in accordance with accepted radiation protection standards for radiology/mammography 9)•documents patient history and other pertinent clinical information using appropriate forms and computer databases designed for this purpose databases designed for this purpose Prepares and processes patient clinical and demographic information, using manual methods, forms, and computerized database systems; ensures the accuracy of historic and current information. 1)•checks the patient’s radiographic history for previous mammograms performed at this facilityl, or elsewhere and enters information into Penrad Tracking System 2)•obtains current personal and family history of breast disease using appropriate forms and computer databases, i.e. Penrad, to record information 3)•secures patient consent forms as may be required; these consents include Pregnancy Consent and Verification, Authorization Form to Release Medical Information, and Consent for Interventional Procedures 4)•documents the presence of a physical lump, moles, or other skin lesions with BB Markers, and draws or labels breast diagrams, indicating location of anatomical scars, previous surgical sites, or other abnormalities 5)•documents procedure information in the appropriate clinical breast database 6)•initiates the patient charge for services rendered 7)•able to perform patient query functions using IDX, Radnet, Fuji CR, and GE PACS Systems 8)•reviews previous reports and images to establish insight into how the current study is to be performed 9)Contacts patients and physicians with priority results. Prepares radiographic/mammographic images, written documentation and determines when radiographic exam adheres to department standard for interpretation by the physician. 1)•procures historical studies and prepares these images for review by the radiologist 2)•ensures the presence of any previous diagnostic or pathology reports 3)•prepares current images for dictation by ensuring proper film identification, sorting of the different views 4)•ensures all paperwork, forms, and diagrams are complete and accurate and ready for use by the physician 5)•provides written notes detailing any comments, unique circumstances, or observations that will aid the physician in dictating the report 6)•processes and sends to the appropriate areas, procedure requisitions, history forms, consents and other documentation as it may be generated Education/Experience Required: - Graduate of AMA Approved Program in Radiologic Technology - 2-3 years experience as Radiologic Technologist - 40 hours of specialized training and continuing education in mammography - Knowledge of anatomy - Need to recognize patients experiencing fear or anxiety - Needs to be able to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e. and understand the differences Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: - Good verbal and written communication skills - Ability to handle anxious and fearful patients - Demonstrated technical skills as a radiographer - Knowledge of film quality control and film processing - Registered Radiologic Technologist/ARRT - IDNS License Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: - Must demonstrate confidence in one’s own ability and have a calming effect on patients and others . there is little opportunity to sit . requires extensive pulling, lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, and pushing . many physical movements are repetitive in nature; associated ailments include carpel tunnel syndrome, backaches and knee and foot problems exposure to ionizing radiation must operate in a fast paced environment If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
