River People Health Center (RPHC) is seeking a skilled and adaptable Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our team on a PRN basis. This role is essential for ensuring the highest quality sterilization standards are met in accordance with departmental procedures and established industry standards. As a PRN team member, you will fill staffing gaps, support peak volumes, and maintain the continuity of care our patients expect. 

Who are we?

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) is a sovereign tribe located in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Bounded by the cities of Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa and Fountain Hills, the Community serves over 11,000 tribal members, and all people conduct business over approximately 96 square miles of residential, agricultural and commercial lands, as a full-service government entity. Health & Human Services’ - River People Health Center (RPHC) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our Ancillary Practice team. 

What the job looks like

  • This is a PRN (As Needed) position with a pay rate of $24.52 per hour.
  • To maintain PRN status, the incumbent is required to work a minimum of three (3) days per month.
  • May be required to work beyond normal business hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Responsible for instrument/instrument trays/equipment decontamination, preparation, sterilization, tray and case cart assembly, documentation, and delivery of medical instrumentation and patient care equipment to the River People’s Health Center. 

What You’ll Do

  • Overall cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and dispensing of instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for the various clinical departments. 
  • Responsible for all parts of the sterilization process: decontamination; prep, pack, sterilize; documentation of sterilization; and sterile storage. 
  • Utilizes chemical agents and automated decontamination machinery to clean and decontaminate instrumentation and medical equipment. 
  • Provide integrity and sterility of products and services for the customers.
  • Maintain consistency and continuous workflow between the departments and Central Sterile Processing while practicing excellent customer service. 
  • Operate and maintain decontamination equipment and assist with the cleaning of rooms between cases and terminal cleaning. 
  • Maintains records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies to remain compliant with applicable regulatory agencies. 

What you have

  • High school diploma or GED required (For enrolled Community members without a GED, must obtain a GED). 
  • Completion of or active enrollment in a sterile processing training program OR certification as either a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) required. 
  • One (1) year of Central Sterile Processing experience required.
