Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Quality Engineer. This position will be located fully on-site at our Aeronautics Sector in Palmdale, CA.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Assurance organization. This position’s standard work schedule is a 4/10 work week, to allow employees every Friday off.
Example Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the implementation of Mission Assurance principles across the program to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and NG requirements
- Support coordination and implementation of all engineering activities, ensuring all individual IPT plans are sufficient quality, completeness, and detail (technical, cost, schedule)
- Execute an integrated mission assurance plan for the program along with supporting plans that align with contractual requirements and stakeholder goals
- Advocates and implements continuous improvement opportunities, identifying and executing tasks to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of NG processes
- Investigates quality problems, issues, and failures through root cause investigation and corrective action implementation
- Performs technical issue assessment, provides technical guidance, and plans for resolution
- Support and provide guidance for all program engineering processes from project inception to project completion
Basic Qualifications for an Associate Quality Engineer (T01)
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
- Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by March 2027.
- Be majoring in or having majored in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, or similar STEM degree.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
- Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access will be required prior to commencement of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
- Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
- Current Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
- Inactive Secret or Top Secret clearance, debriefed within the last two years
Pay Range:
$69,400 - $104,000/year
