Description
The Greater Richmond YMCA is currently seeking a highly motivated, organized, team-oriented professional to serve as the Risk Management Associate. This position plays a key role in handling administrative tasks for the Risk Management department for the YMCA of Greater Richmond Association.
Responsibilities:
The Risk Managment Associate provides support to the Director of Risk Management, handling administrative tasks and assisting with various risk-related activities. This role manages paperwork, maintains records, coordinates communication, and supports the implementation of risk management strategies.
- Supports Risk Management department with claims administration and analysis to assist in loss reduction.
- Reviews incident reports for near miss and works with Director of Risk Management for follow up actions.
- Support Risk Management department with member screening, terminations and suspension.
- Support Risk Management department with issuance and maintenance of certificates of insurance.
- Assists Risk Management department with processing and maintaining contracts.
- Supports Risk Management department with Corporate Office security and facility issues.
- Support Risk Management department with meeting scheduling and minutes.
- Assists Risk Management with drills and audits, as needed and as time allows.
- Assists Risk Management with special projects.
- Supports Risk Management Department with operational disbursements.
- Support Risk Management with vendor correspondence.
- Maintains confidential and sensitive information and materials in a professional and private manner.
- Acts as a liaison with other departments.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent; BA/BS preferred in a related field.
- Two years of administrative support experience.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong self-awareness and flexibility.
- Proven ability to take initiative, work independently, coordinate with colleagues, determine priorities and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to draft reports and other documents.
- Experience handling confidential material and information.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism while working with staff at all organizational levels.
This position requires discretion, adaptability and discernment to establish priorities and solve problems when given a new task. Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal), demonstrate flexibility and adaptation to changing demands, and collaborate effectively with leadership.
