What you'll do...

Role summary:

As a Staff Software Engineer Frontend, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, driving the full software development lifecycle from coding to deployment and maintenance. You will utilize application of cloud native architecture principles and integrate AI/ML technologies to enhance system performance and automation. This role requires technical leadership, mentorship, and collaboration across various teams to ensure stability of high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives. You will influence frontend architectural decisions, promote engineering excellence, and continuously improve processes to support innovation and operational success within a dynamic environment. **Immigration Sponsorship support will NOT be available for this

The Walmart Connect team develops AI-enhanced, cloud-native search and advertising platforms supporting scalable distributed systems for millions of users. Focused on innovation and technical excellence, the team collaborates across functions to design, build, and maintain robust solutions. Members apply strong problem-solving skills, iterative development, and continuous integration to ensure high-quality delivery. This environment fosters technical growth and the use of advanced technologies, including generative artificial intelligence and platform design, to drive impactful results aligned with business objectives. The team emphasizes collaboration, technical ownership, and continuous improvement to meet evolving challenges.
What you'll do:
  • Build advertiser-facing Sponsored Products web experiences (campaign setup, targeting, bidding, reporting).
  • Partner with Product, Design, Backend, and Data Science to deliver scalable frontend architecture and reusable components.
  • Own UI performance, reliability, accessibility, and security; instrument client-side telemetry to measure impact.
  • Implement experimentation with feature flags and A/B tests.
  • Troubleshoot production issues end-to-end; drive root-cause fixes and operational readiness improvements.
  • Mentor engineers via design docs, code reviews, and technical guidance.
  • Improve developer velocity through CI/CD, build tooling, and automation.

What you'll bring:
  • 8+ years building modern web applications, with deep expertise in React and TypeScript.
  • Strong frontend architecture skills: component design, state management, API integration, and scalable UI patterns.
  • Proven track record improving performance, reliability, accessibility, and security for high-traffic, data-heavy UIs.
  • Experience with testing and quality (unit/integration/E2E), CI/CD, and observability/telemetry.
  • Ability to lead technical design reviews, make sound tradeoffs, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners.
  • Mentorship and technical leadership experience, raising engineering standards across teams.
  • Familiarity with experimentation (A/B tests, feature flags) and metrics-driven iteration.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
