Chemistry III, Analytical Technician
The ideal Analytical Lab Technician will support analytical services, research and development, quality and manufacturing by executing tests and generating reports. The candidate will be highly organized, results oriented, excellent team player, able to adapt to changing needs of the organization, hand on experience working with analytical equipment and maintenance. Additionally, the individual will have strong communication skills, and the interpersonal skills to work within a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Executes laboratory testing according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), makes observations and interpret findings.
Conducts experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods.
Organizes and stores all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
Records all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.
Ensures that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment. Supports laboratory staff by maintaining glassware, daily logs and equipment record books
Ability to follow work instructions for methods already in place;
Maintain a safe, organized work environment according to lab specific procedures;
Develop/maintain SOPs, work instructions, control charts and certifications of testing equipment;
Perform equipment maintenance and calibration;
Accurately document experiments and results;
Provide support to other scientists as needed
Tests and analyzes R&D samples, manufactured materials, and in-process samples when needed and in timely manner
Confers with process engineers, development scientists, and manufacturing personnel regarding results as needed.
Good communication and coordination abilities
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects in parallel
Strong independent operation skills and ability to complete lab work safely
Ability to learn and become proficient at several analytical techniques
Qualifications:
High School Diploma and 5-10 years experience; OR Associate’s degree in a scientific field and 3-5 years experience
Must have the ability and skill to perform the detailed job requirements noted above competently, safely and proficiently.
Hands on experience working with analytical equipment is preferred
Self-starting motivated person who possesses good interpersonal skills and who can effectively interact with cross functional teams
Must have good organizational and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with the use of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Basic computer skills required.
Must be a team player with integrity and concern for the quality of Company products, services and staff members.
