Litigation Paralegal

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our Employment Litigation practice group.

Contract Length: 10-12 weeks
Location: Mooresville, NC

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial case assessments to identify and obtain relevant documents to assist counsel with employment litigation and administrative charges.
• Coordinate, schedule, and, when directed, interview custodians and witnesses to verify facts and identify relevant documents.
• Draft chronologies of relevant facts, documents, witnesses, and events to support assigned counsel.
• Under attorney supervision, gather, review, and organize information for discovery, early case assessment, and case review.
• Prepare initial drafts of responses to administrative agency requests for information and subpoenas, including identifying and gathering relevant documents and preparing written responses.
• Assist with presentations and briefings for internal business clients.
• Support attorneys with related projects by conducting research, gathering key documents, and organizing files.
• Compile information and prepare internal reports, including forecasts, project updates, legal invoices, accounting information, and data from various databases.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 8 years of experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm; OR
• Associate's Degree with 4 years of experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm; OR
• Bachelor's Degree with experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm.
• Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience drafting legal documents.
• Paralegal certificate or state-designated paralegal certification.
• Experience working within a corporate legal department.
• Retail industry experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing professional presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
