About GreenSky
GreenSky, LLC, headquartered in Atlanta, is a leading technology company Powering Commerce at the Point of Sale® for a growing ecosystem of merchants, consumers, and banks. GreenSky’s highly scalable, proprietary and patented technology platform enables merchants to offer frictionless promotional payment options to consumers, driving increased sales volume and accelerated cash flow. The GreenSky® Program is operated on behalf of, and financing is offered and made by, federally insured, federal or state chartered financial institutions, which leverage GreenSky’s technology to offer loans to primarily super-prime and prime consumers nationwide. Since GreenSky's inception, nearly 6 million consumers have financed nearly $70 billion of commerce using GreenSky’s real time “apply and buy” technology.
Position:
Account Executive, HELOC (Home Improvement Financing)
Location:
Atlanta, GA with up to 25% travel for merchant onboarding, training, and industry events.
About This Opportunity
GreenSky is bringing home equity lending to the point of sale. Homeowners hold trillions of dollars in tappable equity, and larger home improvement projects are a natural fit for a HELOC, yet almost none of that lending happens at the time the homeowner and contractor agree on a project. GreenSky is seeking an Account Executive (AE) to actively drive prospecting and sales growth for GreenSky's HELOC offering, “HomeDraw,” within the Home Improvement vertical — with the mandate of enrolling every merchant location and training every merchant sales rep to offer HomeDraw to every customer, every time.
A primary focus of this role is introducing GreenSky's HELOC financing solution to merchants running larger-scope, high-ticket projects — Design-Build firms, pool builders, ADU (accessory dwelling unit) builders, and shed/outdoor structure manufacturers — where project sizes can exceed what point-of-sale unsecured financing alone supports.
The AE identifies and qualifies this opportunity within the merchant base and warms it up; all HELOC consumer-facing loan discussions, terms, and applications are handled by GreenSky's licensed Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) team. This role operates within program compliance guardrails and does not present HELOC loan terms or take HELOC applications.
Duties & Responsibilities
We are looking for an individual who has high energy, a will to win, and a tenacious work ethic to succeed. This is an individual contributor sales role, responsible for both new merchant acquisition and nurturing/growing the business following the sale. The ideal candidate has existing experience, success, and high-level contacts within key Home Improvement industry verticals.
- Prospect and close new merchant contracts for standard point-of-sale financing across Home Improvement businesses, securing direct access, explicit endorsement, and marketing support to enroll merchant locations and train their sales staff.
- Identify and develop new merchant relationships where high-job-size projects make GreenSky's HELOC solution a natural fit, and hand off qualified opportunities to the MLO team.
- Lead web-based and in-person client presentations, meetings, and merchant staff training sessions on how to introduce financing — including HELOC awareness — and invite customers into the application experience.
- Collaborate with GreenSky's HELOC business and Sales leadership to help execute the go-to-market strategy across the merchant network, supporting merchant enablement, training, and adoption of the HomeDraw offering.
- Manage a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects and own the full sales cycle from initial engagement through closing.
- Support performance across the origination funnel — conversion, speed to close, and customer experience — by ensuring merchants and their staff are properly equipped to introduce financing at the point of sale.
- Build and maintain relationships at industry events (e.g., home improvement, design-build, pool, and outdoor living trade shows) to generate net-new business and expand market presence.
- Nurture and grow enrolled merchant accounts post-sale to increase financing adoption, average ticket, and close rate.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- 2+ years B2B sales experience; preferably within the financing, payments, or home improvement space.
- Experience leading web-based and in-person client presentations, meetings, and training sessions.
- Proven track record of sales success and ability to detail your process and results.
- Demonstrates a passion for excellence with respect to treating and caring for customers.
- Self-starter who deals well with ambiguity and thrives on the hunt for the deal.
- Strong written and verbal skills; public speaking experience.
- Excellent presentation skills and questioning capabilities.
- Experience with Salesforce as well as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar online web-conference software.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
- BA/BS degree preferred.
- Experience in financial services sales.
- Working familiarity with HELOC / home equity lending fundamentals (e.g., what drives eligibility and funding timelines) — helpful for spotting fit, not required for closing HELOC deals.
- Knowledge of home equity or mortgage origination (underwriting, closing, or servicing) a plus.
- Prior experience selling to owners/decision-makers of high-average-ticket contractors and builders (Design-Build, Pools, ADUs, Sheds/outdoor structures).
- Experience with merchants, partners, or B2B2C distribution channels.
