We’re seeking a motivated Laboratory Analyst II to join our environmental laboratory team in Reading, PA.

This role is focused on semi-volatile organic analysis (SVOA) and is ideal for a laboratory professional with hands-on experience in organic sample preparation, extraction, and/or analytical instrumentation. You’ll support the full analytical process, including sample preparation, instrumental analysis, quality control, data review, troubleshooting, and documentation. 

What You’ll Do

• Perform sample preparation and extraction for semi-volatile organic analysis (SVOA)
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation, including GC-MS, GC, GC-ECD, and HPLC.
• Perform organic analytical testing and required QA/QC activities in accordance with approved methods and procedures
• Review and interpret analytical data, perform required calculations, and resolve or escalate QC issues, discrepancies, or unusual findings as needed
• Accurately document sample preparation, laboratory activities, instrument performance, and analytical results in LIMS
• Collaborate with team members and management to meet turnaround times, balance workload, and support cross-training
• Support audits, corrective actions, SOP revisions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain laboratory organization, glassware, inventory, and supplies
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline
• 2+ years of professional analytical laboratory experience with GC-MS, GC, GC-ECD, and/or HPLC instrumentation 
• Previous experience performing organic extractions strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and LIMS

Work Schedule

• Full-time, on-site position
• Monday - Friday schedule
• Ability to work outside normal business hours, including evenings, rotating weekends and holidays, and one Sunday per month
