Senior QA Automation Engineer – Short-Term Contract

About the Role

Our client is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a short-term, fixed-term assignment focused on building and scaling the automated testing strategy for a modern Single Page Application (SPA).

This is a highly hands-on role for an experienced QA Automation Engineer or SDET who can take ownership of the testing approach from end to end: designing the automation framework and testing pipeline, building UI and end-to-end automated tests, scaling test execution in a cloud environment, and establishing clear QA standards and reporting.

A key component of the project will also involve AI/LLM-based testing, including the use of AI tools to accelerate QA processes and the development of automated scenarios that combine traditional application interactions with LLM prompts and response validation.

This opportunity is ideal for someone comfortable joining a project for a defined period of time, quickly understanding the existing environment, and independently building a structured and scalable QA automation approach.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement a test automation framework/harness and testing pipeline.
• Build and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and QA documentation.
• Develop automated UI, functional, and end-to-end tests for a modern SPA.
• Build scalable automation using Playwright or similar technologies.
• Design solutions capable of running multiple automated test instances concurrently, including 20–50+ instances with different configurations.
• Aggregate and consolidate results from parallel test executions and generate centralized reports and testing artifacts.
• Design and execute automated testing infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Work with GCP service accounts, permissions, cloud resources, and related infrastructure required to support automated testing.
• Leverage AI tools and AI agents to accelerate test creation, execution, analysis, and documentation.
• Build automated scenarios involving LLM interactions, including scripted prompts, response validation, and test-result artifacts.
• Define clear, scalable, and maintainable testing standards and QA processes.
• Partner with the client's UAT team to align automated testing with existing UAT scripts and minimize duplicated efforts.
• Identify relevant UAT scenarios that can be incorporated into the automated testing framework.
• Identify gaps in test coverage and recommend improvements to automation, scalability, and QA efficiency.
• Own the end-to-end QA lifecycle, from planning and automation through execution, reporting, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in QA, Software Testing, SDET, Test Automation, or similar roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Front-End/UI Test Automation.
• Proven experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks, harnesses, and pipelines from scratch.
• Strong experience with Playwright or comparable UI automation frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based test automation and parallel test execution at scale.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including:
  • GCP Console navigation
  • Service accounts
  • Permissions and access management
  • Cloud resources supporting automated testing
• Experience running multiple automated test instances concurrently with different configurations.
• Experience aggregating and analyzing results from parallel test executions and generating centralized reports or artifacts.
• Strong understanding of the Software/Application Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience developing test plans, test cases, testing standards, and QA documentation.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX and end-to-end user flows.
• Experience working with AI tools, AI agents, and/or LLM-based applications.
• Experience testing AI/LLM interactions or AI-powered features is highly desirable.
• Strong experience with end-to-end testing.
• Ability to work independently and establish a structured QA approach within a short-term engagement.
• Strong English communication and collaboration skills.
• Availability to work during EST or Central Time business hours.
