Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Methadone Clinic

Pay: $26–$29 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | 5:00 AM–1:00 PM
On-Call: One Saturday per month | 6:00 AM–9:00 AM

Make a Difference in Medication-Assisted Treatment
Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and clinically skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Methadone Clinic team in Asheville, NC.
This position plays an important role in providing safe, high-quality, client-centered care to adults receiving treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. The LPN will support medication-assisted treatment (MAT), detox protocols, medication management, and ongoing nursing care in a structured outpatient environment.
Position Summary
The LPN provides direct nursing services while working closely with medical providers and clinical staff to ensure safe, effective, and compliant treatment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced behavioral health environment and is committed to treating every client with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Complete initial nursing assessments for new admissions, as applicable

Administer medications according to physician orders, treatment plans, and clinic protocols

Perform and document COWS and CIWA assessments as required

Provide medication education and health-related guidance to clients

Support medical providers during assessments and medication management appointments

Monitor client health status and communicate relevant concerns to the treatment team

Maintain medical equipment and supplies

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation

Follow professional boundaries, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements

Collaborate effectively with nursing, medical, and clinical team members

Perform other duties as assigned based on program needs
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
-
Current, unencumbered LPN license in the state of North Carolina
-
Current CPR/BLS, AED, and First Aid certification
Experience
-
At least one year of nursing experience preferred
-
Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), or co-occurring disorders strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong clinical judgment and nursing skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in crisis or high-risk situations

Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements

Strong organizational and documentation skills

Ability to problem-solve, multitask, and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Compassionate, respectful, and recovery-focused approach to client care
Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and use hands and arms regularly

Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds; infrequent lifting of up to 50 pounds

Work is primarily indoors in a moderately quiet clinical setting

May be exposed to infectious diseases or emotionally challenging situations

Reliable transportation required
