JOB OVERVIEW
Reeder Distributors, Inc. is looking for a dependable and hardworking Tank Build/Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, field-based position that will work alongside and support our existing Tank team with fuel polishing, tank maintenance, tank preparation, cleaning, assembly, equipment loading, and other field service needs.
The Tank Build/Maintenance Technician will perform work at our Fort Worth facility as well as customer and job sites. This position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the flexibility to travel as needed, including overnight travel when required.
We are looking for someone who takes initiative, works well as part of a team, and is willing to learn and assist wherever needed to safely and efficiently complete the job.
Must be okay with traveling occasionally or as business needs require.
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with a scheduled start time of 6:30 AM. Must be flexible and available to work overtime and additional hours based on business needs.
COMPENSATION
Starting out at $20.00 per hour, paid weekly, with the potential for a higher starting rate based on relevant experience and qualifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform fuel polishing services at customer locations and job sites.
- Assist the existing Tank team with tank maintenance, assembly, preparation, cleaning, and field service work.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, pumps, hoses, and other equipment used for fuel polishing and tank-related services.
- Perform paint preparation, power washing, and general cleaning of tanks and equipment.
- Assist with basic mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment maintenance.
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip forklift inspections.
- Safely operate forklifts to load and unload tanks, equipment, and materials from flatbed trailers.
- Document tank builds, modifications, fuel polishing services, and equipment changes as required.
- Work safely at heights, including the use of a man basket, safety harness, and required fall-protection equipment.
- Follow Company, customer, and job-site safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, equipment, and job sites.
- Travel to customer locations and job sites as required, including overnight travel when business needs require.
- Work collaboratively with existing Tank team members to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Take initiative in completing daily assignments and assisting with department needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or mechanical training preferred.
- Valid Class C driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
- Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel to customer and job sites as required.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Previous tank, fuel polishing, mechanical, equipment, industrial, or related field experience preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate tools and equipment.
- Dependable, punctual, hardworking, and able to maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
- Ability and willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and procedures.
- Comfortable working outdoors, around fuel-related equipment, and at heights.
- Ability to frequently climb, bend, push, pull, reach, stand, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
