Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working with advanced heavy equipment and helping customers succeed? We are seeking a dedicated Service Technician to support our Prinoth Alpine and industrial equipment customers throughout the region.
This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. While experience in the ski industry or snow grooming equipment is considered an asset, we welcome candidates with backgrounds in heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, or industrial service and repair.
What You'll Do:
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Prinoth Alpine and industrial equipment in both shop and field environments.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
- Complete welding, fabrication, and equipment modification work as required.
- Utilize diagnostic software, specialized tools, schematics, and technical documentation to identify and resolve issues.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through timely, professional, and effective technical support.
- Travel to customer locations to provide on-site equipment service and repairs.
- Accurately document work orders, service reports, warranty claims, and expense reports.
- Communicate technical findings, recurring issues, and product improvement opportunities to Product Support, Engineering, and Factory teams.
- Work independently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Bring:
- Technical School, Trade School, College training, or equivalent hands-on mechanical experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience servicing heavy equipment, industrial machinery, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or related products.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using diagnostic software, electronic service tools, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in field service environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license and passport.
- Personal set of mechanic's tools.
Travel & Work Schedule:
This position involves frequent travel to customer sites and seasonal scheduling demands.
- Spring and summer schedules typically average 40 hours per week.
- Fall and winter seasons require overtime, weekend work, occasional holiday coverage, and participation in an on-call rotation.
- Frequent travel, including overnight stays, should be expected.
- Work safely and effectively in snow, cold temperatures, adverse weather conditions, and challenging environments.
Physical Requirements:
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Lift, carry, position, remove, and install heavy components and equipment independently or with assistance.
- Stand, kneel, bend, climb, reach, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Access equipment located at varying heights and positions.
- Safely transport and operate tools, diagnostic equipment, and service materials.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures in shop, field, and customer-site environments.
