Position Overview
Are you looking to be part of a growing and developing team in an organization that values its people, customers, work, and supply chain? If so, APEX is currently accepting applications for a Drafting Technologist within its Steel Door Manufacturing Group.
This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Group Manager. The primary role of this position is to plan and organize orders for use in the plant.
Responsibilities:
- Organize, produce shop drawings and documents for manufacturing use.
- Plan projects to maximize productivity in the shop and to customer delivery requirements.
- Continuously look for ways to improve the detail on drawings for shop use.
- Creating custom designs using Autodesk Inventor.
Qualifications:
- College diploma (i.e. PTech, CET), University degree, or the equivalent work experience would be considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- A manufacturing or drawing design background.
- Background in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar 3D mechanical CAD software
- Strong background in excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-changing environment under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly motivated with strong organizational skills & problem-solving abilities.
